How to read it

What the numbers tell you

Spravato fills differently from a one-time service, because every patient who continues keeps coming back. The first patients take up chair time for months, so your schedule builds slowly and then reaches a level that holds as long as new starts keep pace with patients finishing.

That gives you two useful numbers. Starts per month to stay full is your real marketing target. Use it to size your budget, working back through your consult rate and approval rate, which the budget guide walks through.

The other is the gap between where you are and that target. If you’re already close, more leads may just make for longer waits, and the better move is another chair or more treatment hours. Our chair time guide goes deeper.

Questions

About the calculator

Why does the calculator use 2.5 hours for a visit?

The label requires at least two hours of monitoring, then a check that the patient is ready to leave. Check-in, vitals and dosing take more time on top of that. We use 2.5 hours as a planning figure, and you can change it to match your clinic.

Where does the schedule come from?

From the FDA label for treatment-resistant depression: twice a week for weeks 1 to 4, once a week for weeks 5 to 8, then every 2 weeks or once a week, at the least frequent schedule that maintains response. Each prescriber sets the actual schedule for each patient.

Does this predict how many patients I’ll get?

No. It’s arithmetic on the numbers you enter. It shows what your chairs can hold and how many starts it would take to fill them.

Why do you ask how many patients continue after week 4?

The label says to look for evidence of benefit at the end of the four-week induction to decide on continued treatment, so some patients stop. Your own records are the best source for this number.
